FELINE CITY, SAINT PETERSBURG

I have visited Saint Petersburg, Russia about ten years ago and there are many feline statues. Here is some photos I have taken.

Quay with Sphinxes is a quay at the Universitetskaya Embankment in Saint Petersburg, in front of the Imperial Academy of Arts. It is remarkable for the two ancient sphinxes that were brought from Egypt to Russia at the height of Egyptomania in 1832.

There are also famous sphinxes on the Malaya Nevka Pier - they have heads of women. This is the work of sculptor Pavel Sokolov from the 1820s.

In total, you can count more than 30 sphinxe statues in St. Petersburg. In addition, there is an Egyptian pyramid in Tsarskoye Selo and an Egyptian Gate in Pushkin.

In Bank Bridge over Griboyedov Canal. It's the one adorned by four winged lion statues with gilded wings

There is a legend in mythical ancient Petropolis, a city protected by winged lions, like these statues, that if you touch the statues it brings good luck.

Medici lions

The lions are usually depicted in pairs. When used as statuary, the pair would consist of a male leaning his paw upon an embroidered ball (in imperial contexts, representing supremacy over the world) and a female restraining a playful cub that is on its back (representing nurture).

On the embankment in front of the east wing of the Admiralty, Palace Pier is a broad flight of granite steps leading down to the Neva. The two lions that flank the steps on pedestals are among the best known sculptures in St. Petersburg.

Copies of the Medici lions have been made and publicly installed in over 30 other locations.

Cast iron railing with images of mermaids on the Anichkov bridge over the Moika river, St. Petersburg and other mythical creatures are surrounded with meander symbol.

The Greek pattern is a meander symbol that is known in Greece, Mayan symbols and I have also seen the same pattern in buildings in St. Petersburg. It is a universal symbol that symbolizes infinity, unity and the eternal flow of life and it is also associated with water and labyrinths. As a sign of continuity, the meander symbol corresponds to endless friendship, love and devotion. The meander symbol has also often appeared in crop circle patterns.

Last summer meander symbol appeared in this crop circle and this time circle was fully completed:

Inside this crop circle, there is a pentagram in right way at the bottom and a pentagram upside down at the top.

If you check these previously appeared Mayan crop circles, meander symbol is not fully complete:

In Saint Petersburg there are also many buildings which have lyra/lyre instrument like in constellation Lyra.

Spiritual architecture involves designing buildings using sacred geometry, numerology, and esoteric symbolism to align with cosmic forces, spiritual beliefs, or to influence energy.
