SACRED SITES

“Listen to the air. You can hear it, feel it, smell it, taste it. Woniya wakan—the holy air—which renews all by its breath. Woniya, woniya wakan—spirit, life, breath, renewal—it means all that. Woniya—we sit together, don’t touch,

but something is there; we feel it between us, as a presence. A good way to start thinking about nature, talk about it. Rather talk to it, talk to the rivers, to the lakes, to the winds as to our relatives.”

Experiencing the Cathedral. A cathedral is a state of mind, not merely a religious building. The Master masons who designed and built these structures were aware that the shapes, textures, colors, resonances, rituals and aspirations combined in such a way that the total experience was greater than the sum of parts. This experience is a door into a new dimension. Visit cathedral consciously. Do it with one-pointedness. Even if you go on the spur of the moment do not allow yourself to go through preoccupied or rushed. Get into the experience - feel it, merge with it, listen to it. Experience it from the outside, from the inside, from far away, close up, from all angles.Feel the thousands of pilgrims who have come before you, treading the same steps, awed by the majesty or simplicity of the windows, the altars, the vaulted ceilings. Seek the idea behind the presentation; the Reality behind the veil of manifested form. - Father Brian Brinkerhoff  A Pilgrims Guide to Planet Erth. A travelers handbook & New Age directory

The presence of Accumulated Spiritual Energy from Large Numbers of Pilgrims that have Visited the Sacred Sites

We have all felt the energies (we might also call them vibrations or presences) that emanate from and surround people according to their internal experiences. For example, when someone is happy, his or her happiness touches and inspires other people. The same is true with vibrations of a spiritual nature. When human beings engage in practices such as prayer and meditation, they experience feelings of inner peace and religious devotion. As these feelings are experienced within, they simultaneously flow outward in the same way that warmth radiates from a heat source or a magnetic field surrounds a magnet. Pilgrimage shrines, because of the large number of people praying and meditating at them, have become highly charged with these vibrations of peace and religious devotion. These vibrations have a lasting effect in physical space. Sacred sites thus become memory banks of the accumulated peace and holiness manifested by countless pilgrims who have visited the shrines.

The saints and holy persons who have lived and meditated at the sacred sites also generate this field of accumulated spiritual energy. A saintly individual who leads an exemplary life imbues his environment with the holiness that accrues from these practices. When we visit an ancient sacred site today we place ourselves within the field, the living memory of the holiness that has been generated both by the pilgrims and the saints over the centuries.

This field of power is further amplified during major festivals held at the sacred places. Many pilgrimage centers that draw visitors throughout the year celebrate certain days, or periods of days, as being particularly auspicious. These holy periods generally fall into two broad categories. Those commemorating events in the lives of either real or mythological figures may be the time when a saint was born, performed a miracle or died, or when a deity or spirit physically manifested in space and time. The sun’s solstices and equinoxes, lunar standstills and the heliacal rising of various stars exemplify those linked with different periods in solar, lunar and stellar cycles. When great numbers of pilgrims flock to a shrine for such an event, the spiritual energy manifested by meditation, prayer and ceremony dramatically increases. A well-known example is the Kumbha Mela festival of India, which draws fifteen to twenty million pilgrims during a one-month period. While such pilgrimage festivals may not be the most serene occasions to visit the sacred places, they are undoubtedly the most exciting and highly charged.

Types of Sacred Sites and the Reasons for their Power

Numerous different types of power places and sacred sites may be found around the world. Based on three decades of visiting many hundreds of sacred sites in one hundred and twenty-five countries and reading more than a thousand books on the subject, I have identified the following list of distinct categories:

Human-built sacred mountains

Sacred bodies of water

Sacred islands

Healing springs

Healing and power stones

Sacred trees and forest groves

Places of ancient mythological importance

Ancient ceremonial sites

Ancient astronomical observatories

Human-erected solitary standing stones

Megalithic chambered mounds

Labyrinth sites

Places with massive landscape carvings

Regions delineated by sacred geography

Oracular caves, mountains, and sites

Male deity / god shrines / yang sites

Female deity / goddess shrines / yin sites

Birthplaces of saints

Places where sages attained enlightenment

Death places of saints

Sites where relics of saints and martyrs were/are kept

Places with enigmatic fertility legends and/or images

Places with miracle-working icons

Places chosen by animals or birds

Places chosen by various geomantic divinatory methods

Unique natural features

Ancient esoteric schools

Ancient monasteries

Places where dragons were slain or sighted

Places of Marian and other deity apparitions

When reading this list it is important to understand that some of these categories overlap and that many sacred sites could be listed in two or more categories. Nonetheless, the many different ways to indicate the types and locations of power places are clearly evident. Ancient legends and modern-day reports tell of extraordinary experiences that people have had while visiting these holy and magical places. Different sacred sites have the power to heal the body, enlighten the mind, increase creativity, develop psychic abilities, and awaken the soul to a knowing of its true purpose in life.

Seeking to explain this miraculous phenomenon, I suggest that there is a definite field of energy that saturates and surrounds the immediate locality of these sacred places. Concentrated at particular holy sites is a subtle field of influence extending in space and continuing in time. How may we explain the origin and ongoing vitality of these site-specific energy fields? What is it that makes a power place a power place? What invigorates their undeniable spiritual magnetism? In my research, I recognize many different factors that contribute to the localized energy fields at the sacred sites. In the detailed writings on my web site, SacredSites.com, I classify and analyze those factors according to the following four categories:

The influences of the Earth.

The influences of celestial objects.

The influences of the structures at the sacred sites.

The influences of human intent.

Within the shrines and sanctuaries is the intention — the energy — of countless priests, priestesses, and pilgrims who have gathered there over hundreds or thousands of years. Praying and meditating, they have continuously charged and amplified the presence of love and peace, healing and wisdom. The megalithic stone rings, Celtic healing springs, Taoist sacred mountains, Mayan temples, Jewish holy sites, Gothic cathedrals, Islamic mosques, Hindu shrines, Buddhist stupas, and Egyptian pyramids are repositories of the concentrated spiritual aspirations of humanity. These are the places where the Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, Zoroaster, Guru Nanak, Mahavira, and other sages and shamans awakened to the deepest realizations of spiritual wisdom.

The Transformational Powers of Sacred Sites

Given my long fascination and familiarity with the sacred power places, you might ask what my philosophy is regarding them. I believe it is highly beneficial for people to make pilgrimages to sacred sites because of the transformational powers available at them. These legendary places have the mysterious capacity to awaken and catalyze within visitors the qualities of compassion, wisdom, peace of mind, and respect for the earth. The development of these qualities in increasing numbers of the human species is of vital importance, considering the numerous environmental and social problems occurring in the world. At the root of all these problems may be found human ignorance. Many human beings are out of touch with themselves (both their bodies and the deeper states of spiritual consciousness), their fellow beings, and the earth they live on. Sacred sites and their subtle fields of influence can assist in the awakening and transformation of human consciousness and thereby in the healing of the earth.

The energy transference at the power places goes both ways: earth to human and human to earth. The wondrously beautiful living earth gives us human beings subtle infusions of spirit, and as pilgrims, we give the earth something like planetary acupuncture in return. True, the power places were discovered mostly in ancient times but they remain vital today, still emanating a potent field of transformational energy. Open yourself to this power of cosmic grace. Let it touch and teach you, while the planet is in turn graced by your own love.

THE ALIGNMENTS SYSTEM

MYSTERIES OF SAINT PETERSBURG.

LOCATION OF THE CITY.

In order to get closer to unraveling some of the many mysteries of the city on the Neva need to start with the location of St. Petersburg on the planet, and consider it a direct connection to the most important historical buildings and geodetic parameters of the Earth.

Code of Peter the Great» was said that Saint-Petersburg (SPb) is located on the ancient - true zero Meridian of the Earth, i.e. on the Meridian of the Great Pyramid (GP). But not just on the Meridian, and in the place of its intersection with the 60th latitude.

Actually everything that is mentioned below fair for the point of intersection of the Meridian of the GP with the 60th latitude. But because the center of St. Petersburg is located forty kilometers to the West of this point, all the information below will be true also for the city.

So, the location of the city on the Meridian of the GP and the 60th latitude is the most important factor that partially explains mystical connection SPb with Egypt. Since GP is on the 30th latitude, and St. Petersburg at the 60th city divides the distance from the EAP to the North pole (NP) in half.

When studying the distances between the famous historical objects found amazing fact linking St. Petersburg with the center of one of the most ancient civilization in South America - complex Tiwanaku. It turned out that the temple in Tiwanaku with very high accuracy is equidistant from the EP and the North pole.

LOCATION OF ANCIENT STRUCTURES IN THE GOLDEN RATIO.

PART 1. THE GREAT PYRAMID - TEOTIUHACAN - NAZCA.

For information on when people become aware of the existence of the golden ratio , is still no consensus. Some scientists believe that the Sumerians were the first, others rightly believe that is ancient Egypt knew about the golden ratio. Researchers believe the Great Pyramid, the builders of the Pyramids of Egypt were known to the golden ratio and the number "pi", and suggest that these golden numbers were key in the design of the pyramids.
